Manual Handling

This qualification is intended as further development for those working in areas where the assistance and movement of people is a part of their role.

Duration: The total qualification time for this qualification is 40 hours and of this 20 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

Qualification: Highfield Level 2 Award in Moving People Safely (RQF)

Who is this for?

This qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the movement and assistance of people and is intended as a further development qualification. It is also suitable as refresher training.

This is underpinned by the safe principles of moving and handling but recognises the special skills required when assisting and moving people.  

Topics covered

These include the reasons for safe manual handling, risk assessments, equipment, applying safe manual handling and moving people safely principles, personal safety, health and dignity issues and personal handling plans.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by multiple-choice examinations and practical assessments.
